About Andy

I am an Australian citizen and an expatriate Welshman, originally from Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, which is part of the United Kingdom. I am married to Barbara and have three younger brothers, one living in Cardiff, Wales, one in Bath, England and the third living near Los Angeles in the U.S.A.

I am a Network Administrator in the Information Technology field and I have lived and worked in Australia since 1972.

I guess I am now technically middle-aged (assuming I live until I'm 114 .... Hahaha!). While growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional. I am as comfortable listening to Deep Purple or Black Sabbath as I am listening to Tchaikovsky or Gilbert and Sullivan. Perhaps one day I'll turn into a grumpy old man but right now I have got my brain reasonably well convinced that it still belongs to a teenager. (Shame I can't convince the other bits!)

My major interest is photography which has been a life-long hobby. I also have an enduring fascination with anything technical ... I'm a "geek" and proud of it!.

I enjoy the hobby of amateur radio and hold an unrestricted licence and the callsign VK2AAK. I spend much of my time working with computers and since I enjoy programming as well as working with hardware, many of my personal "projects" combine these activities.
